The Robotic Surgery Center of the Carolinas is a branch of Spartanburg & Pelham ObGyn, P.A. that specializes in robotic assisted surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical System. It was established by Dr. Bang Giep, M.D. and Dr. Hoang Giep, M.D. to bring the most advanced and least invasive gynecologic surgery to the women of the Carolinas and Georgia.
Experience Matters!
Our doctors were the first gynecologists in South Carolina to perform robotic surgery. We have performed over 500 surgeries with the da Vinci® Surgical System - more than any other gynecologist in the South East.
The Robotic Surgery Center of the Carolinas is also the first physician-led case observation site in South Carolina for gynecologists. We are one of only 15 training sites for robotic gynecologists in the United States. Surgeons from around the country come to learn the latest techniques from Dr. Giep.
Abdominal Surgery Virtually Eliminated
Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, our doctors can treat a number of gynecologic conditions including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, uterine prolapse and menorrhagia or excessive bleeding.
Over the past two years, our doctors performed 100% of their hysterectomies and myomectomies using the da Vinci Surgical System, including women with prior Caesarians (C-Sections), endometriosis, and those with an enlarged uterus.
Even if your doctor has recommended an abdominal surgery, you may still be a candidate for da Vinci surgery.
A da Vinci hysterectomy or myomectomy may result in less scarring, less pain, less blood loss, and a faster recovery than traditional surgical methods.
Location
We are conveniently located in the Upstate of South Carolina, with easy access from I 85 and I 26 - Atlanta is just over two hours away; Columbia, Asheville, and Charlotte are just over an hour away. We have offices located in both Spartanburg and Greenville / Greer. Appointments may be made for either location.
